John H. Stevens, M.D.Chief Executive and Chairman of the Board of Directors

Dr. Stevens is the Chairman and CEO of HeartFlow Inc. He has had a distinguished career as an entrepreneur and health care professional. He was the Co-Founder and CTO of Heartport, the Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Amp Resources, Co-Founder and Chairman and CEO of Sundrop Fuels. He has had extensive experience founding, investing and leading technology focused companies. He was an Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Surgery at Stanford University.

He received his B.S. from the University of Utah and M.D. from the Stanford University School of Medicine.


Charles A. Taylor, Ph.D.Founder, Chief Technology Officer, and Member of the Board of Directors

Dr. Taylor is a co-founder, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and member of the Board of Directors of HeartFlow Inc. Previously, he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Bioengineering and Surgery at Stanford University with courtesy faculty appointments in the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Radiology. He is internationally recognized for the development of computer modeling and imaging techniques for cardiovascular disease research, device design and treatment planning.

He received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. degree in Mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.


Campbell Rogers, M.D., F.A.C.C.Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Rogers brings a wealth of experience to HeartFlow, where he serves as the Chief Medical Officer. Prior to joining HeartFlow, he was the Chief Scientific Officer and Global Head of Research and Development at Cordis Corporation, Johnson & Johnson, where he was responsible for leading investments and research in cardiovascular devices. Prior to Cordis, he was Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Harvard-M.I.T. Division of Health Sciences and Technology, and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization and Experimental Cardiovascular Interventional Laboratories at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He served as Principal Investigator for numerous interventional cardiology device, diagnostic, and pharmacology trials, is the author of numerous journal articles, chapters, and books in the area of coronary artery and other cardiovascular diseases, and was the recipient of research grant awards from the NIH and AHA.

He received his A.B. from Harvard College and his M.D. from Harvard Medical School.


Christopher K. Zarins, M.D.Founder, Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs, Member of the Board of Directors

Dr. Zarins is a co-founder, Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs, and member of the Board of Directors of HeartFlow Inc. He served as the Chief of Vascular Surgery at the University of Chicago from 1978-1993. In 1993 he joined Stanford University as the Walter Clifford and Elsa Rooney Chidester Professor in Surgery and served as the Chief of Vascular Surgery at the Stanford University Medical Center from 1993-2005. Dr. Zarins served as President of the Society of Vascular Surgery in 1999.

He received his B.A. from Lehigh University and M.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.


Heather A. Brown, Ph.D. Vice President of Technology Management

Dr. Brown brings 10 years of experience in advanced medical imaging product development and service. She has held leadership roles in multiple startups and drove the development of AAA stent graft and TAVR planning applications as well as novel methods of assessing cardiac wall mechanics. Dr. Brown developed the first Volumetric Medical Imaging college accredited program at Jefferson Community and Technical College in 2005. She holds six patents.

She received her B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.


Dustin MichaelsVice President of Clinical, Quality and Regulatory Affairs

Mr. Michaels has over 15 years of experience in cardiovascular medicine and wide-ranging experience in the medical device regulatory and clinical arena. He has been instrumental in initial clinical testing and gaining commercial approval for several novel cardiovascular products including AAA stent grafts, coronary and carotid distal embolic protection and chronic total occlusion recanalization devices. Previously he served in Regulatory and Clinical Management roles at FlowCardia, PercuSurge and AneuRx. FlowCardia was acquired by CR Bard. Percusurge and AneuRx were acquired by Medtronic.

He received his B.S. in Chemistry from Kent State University.


Timothy FonteFellow

Mr. Fonte has over 7 years of experience in cardiovascular and medical device research, design, and operations as both engineer and leader. Before HeartFlow, Mr. Fonte led mechanical design of the first sub-cutaneous implantable defibrillator at Cameron Health. Mr. Fonte has a long association with HeartFlow’s core technology – having worked as a research assistant with Dr. Taylor on patient specific blood flow modeling during his time at Stanford University.

He received his B.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and M.S. from Stanford University in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on biomechanics and computational mechanics.


Leo Grady, Ph.DVice President of Research & Development

Dr. Grady has over 9 years of experience in advanced medical imaging software. Prior to joining HeartFlow, Inc. he worked at Siemens Corporate Research in the Department of Imaging Analytics and Informatics. In this role he created and led the development of innovative software to extract complex information from all medical imaging modalities, with a particular focus on cardiovascular and oncology applications. He is internationally recognized for his work on advanced algorithms for medical imaging from his publication of 2 books, over 40 papers in top journals and conferences, and his 28 patents.

He received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Vermont and a Ph.D. in Cognitive and Neural Systems from Boston University.
